On Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, #Oracle Women’s Leadership (OWL) hosted their second event benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank. Every month Second Harvest supplies 10,000 bags of food to low-income people. Volunteers gathered to create handmade greeting cards that will be placed in these food bags to be distributed to families in need.
When asked about her favorite part, Linda Pomeranz, Director of Global Core Technology Training said, “meeting new people to create cards that will hopefully cheer up people in need. [She hopes] it brings a smile to their face.” Andrea Castillo, Oracle Direct sales representative said, “This was the first OWL event that I attended and I loved just how involved and passionate everyone was about helping out a great cause. It really feels good not just to know you're helping out but that there are others out there who also care to help." A total of 539 cards were created! OWL hopes to continue and make this a permanent event that occurs every few months. Thank you to all the #volunteers who came out to support the event!
