Tonight's the total eclipse of the supermoon, the first time since 1982 and the last until 2033.
A supermoon occurs when the full or new moon is unusually close to Earth in its orbit. The moon looks unusually bright in those situations when it's full. Tonight, however, as seen from Portland, the moon will be in eclipse as it appears over the eastern horizon. @theoregonian
