Iceland: Jökulsarlon Lagoon

Jökulsarlon's iceberg are up to 1000 years old but the lagoon started forming in 1934 when the glacier started retreating and it's is quickly and constantly gaining in size. Every year up to 100 metres of ice break off from the glacier. The fascinating blue color developed by the ice as a result of its pressure lasts for a few hours only, turning white within the day. You may recall having seen the lagoon in hollywood movies such as "007: Die Another Day" and "Tomb Raider"
