Born on the British Isle of Man, the boys shuttled back and forth between their first home and England as their bandleader father, Hugh, bounced from job to job. ‘We were always foreigners in a foreign school, and in Australia (where the family lived from 1958 to 1967) the kids called us Yankees. It was always us three fighting somebody else in the school, or us being picked on by a mob.’ Music was as much of a refuge as an avocation, and the brothers were singing together and performing publicly before they reached their teens."
