Whenever I'm working near Santa Monica, I always give my sister a call to see what she's up to. This day, we decided to go hiking.

I've never been up to the Temescal Canyon Trail. This is her hood and her trail, even though she says she knows where she's going, she's stopping at forks and asking me where to go. I know she knows where to go, I think. She's got a great sense of humor like that. Unless you're joking around with feeding her.

I rarely get to see her anymore. She's so busy nowadays working, traveling, or spending her free time with her daughter. Although we don't get to hang for long, we get to talk, and I know she's doing well. I took this shot on the the trail. It's covered throughout with these amazing trees. The view is looking south toward Santa Monica Pier and Venice, which isn't so bad either. - @nicholaskhess #WhyIDrive
