We see so many hooks, nets and other man made devices of death used to catch and kill as many sea creatures as possible on sharks alive and still swimming today. When you really stop and think about long line fishing and compare it to a Forrest I think people would be up in arms to stop it. If a hunter went into a national park and laid out a 5 mile line with traps every 10 feet and caught deer, bunnies, squirrels and any other creature that came across it we wouldn't stand for it. Yet everyday, thousands of times a day humans are letting out mile after mile of hooks and catching dolphin, turtles, Rays and sharks at numbers that are mind boggling. Many of the creatures caught have little to no sale value at market but the hooks don't discriminate. What will it take for us to say enough? Will we wait until we have an ocean of jelly fish? Just something to think about, it's tough living so cut off from nature like most of us are, to stop and digest what's happening to our planet. I know the first thought is "there's nothing I can do about it" but that's not true. Search "ocean conservation" online and Spend a few minutes finding some organization you can get behind and join the fight.
