My heart is filled with even more gratitude on this Caturday
I received this special and heartfelt note yesterday from another top 10 veterinarian in the America’s Favorite Veterinarian contest… ”Today I told my (veterinary) team I will no longer perform declaws. I felt I needed to let you know that your passionate defense of the cause made me stop and research and soul search. So keep doing that to others. I will! I also want to be a part of the veterinarians who do corrective surgeries for botched declawed cats.” Hopefully this very compassionate veterinarian can inspire the other vets at the practice to do the right thing and stop declawing too. That is the final step to making this a true victory for the welfare of kitties.
If vets passionately counsel cat clients on the humane alternatives and how horrific declawing really is and the negative consequences, they most likely will not go elsewhere to have it done.
As this vet said, “My associates watched the @pawproject movie, so I know the images must be burned in their brains and I am praying they commit (to not declawing) 100%." I’m optimistic. How about you? Please don’t try to speculate as to who it is or comment in negative ways.
These are huge steps from @avmavets who have found it in their hearts to do the right thing and completely honor the oath they took to heal and help animals and truly want to be a part of the solution to help end declawing. Yes, they are now on the right side of cat history.
Please keep spreading awareness to your friends and family because all of you 100% help make things like this happen.
