Why did you choose to join Instagram? Answer: Instagram had launched its Android app few weeks prior and was showing tremendous growth as a communication platform. I had been using Instagram for personal reasons since December so I was already quite familiar with its ability to visually tell a story but it took a while to connect the dots on how it would help our website, RunnerSpace.com. It would take a few months of inconsistent use to figure how to use it for business reasons. ________________________________________Q: How relevant is Instagram for a brand like yours? A: Our primary mission at RunnerSpace.com is to bring the sport of athletics (Track & Field, Cross Country, Road Racing) to the fans that can’t be at the event. From simple days of results & photos to on demand videos and now with live webcasts, the visual aspect has always been huge. It’s just another way to share the visual of our sport. ________________________________________Q: On your last 100 media posted, 14 of them are videos. Why? Is managing your account with pictures more efficient than videos? A: Photos have better interaction rates than videos but with video being a huge part of our website network (nearly 170k videos on RunnerSpace.com right now) we have share videos to showcase our network’s best video content.
