Who doesn't LOVE this movie?! The foreknowledge of the Cold War that was to come give you chills, and it's just one of the most spellbinding, superb stories ever committed to celluloid (nbd) Orson Welles gave us a study of the allure of evil in the name of enterprise, a mesmerizing, charming villain with dark humor and his own justifications. He's so damn fun to watch! And Carol Reed gives us a masterclass in directing, not to mention those famous Dutch angles. Such a dream team. .......... Calloway: Go home Martins, like a sensible chap. You don't know what you're mixing in, get the next plane.
Martins: As soon as I get to the bottom of this, I'll get the next plane.
