Lolita's tank is barely four times the length of her and 20 foot at the deepest. In the wild she would easily swim 75 miles a day. She was captured in 1970 and hasn't seen another whale since her only companion Hugo committed suicide by bashing his head against the railings to give himself a brain aneurism, ten years after they first arrived at Miami Seaquarium. The Miami Beach Mayor has recently called for Lolita's release but the sea park won't give her up. She is over 40 years old and still having to perform every day. She deserves to be released into a whale sanctuary and live out the rest of her days in peace.
