I will never forget the day Katrina happened. I was 6 months pregnant & had just moved back to Mississippi to have my son, it was the longest night of my life. None of us could have predicted the devastation that followed. Everyone always talks about New Orleans, but rarely people mention the MS Gulf Coast. When we got power (briefly) after the storm passed, there was nothing left of the coast & I just started crying.. When I saw the people in New Orleans who were walking in water neck deep trying to find loved ones, my heart broke. It felt like a nightmare. I visit often, & 10 years later the marks of that day are still there, despite both cities rebuilding it was never the same. We were never the same either. #Katrina10
