This is in the new Whitney Museum! I went there for the first time today and almost choked up. I saw the sky I love from so many windows and terraces. But that was not the important surprise. Inside were the paintings of familiar artists we have never seen before. I can say “we” because none of us saw these particular paintings which were in the basement of the old Whitney up to now.
I’m glad they are aired finally. It shows how great the American artists has been, especially the women artists. We have to quickly change our minds about the art history we vaguely had in our minds. I say vaguely because this important witness to American Art were never out in the open until now.
Whitney is now quickly rearranging our mind computer to very, very beautiful and important truth - especially for the kids of America… I love you! yoko
