Just leaving the UN where I attended the first ever Security Council discussion about LGBT rights abuses around the world. Exciting, fascinating but daunting to witness how a huge institution like this works. We heard first hand accounts of people who barely escaped death for being themselves, a great speech from Jessica Stern from @IGLHRC and many many countries' ambassadors agreeing and pledging support. Baby steps though, as highlighting a problem is not the same as ending it.
