Linda and Michelle Aragon (@laragon265) and their daughter Jaden were ready to adopt another dog months after losing Sofie, a dog they rescued 15+ years ago. They were interested in a one-year-old female Border Collie (now named Star) who was surrendered to a local shelter. Linda was immediately drawn to her, not just by her seemingly calm reserve, but more so by the way Star laid her head on Linda's lap in the most natural and genuine way, as if she had done this many times before. Because Star was bonded to her male sibling (now named Sunny), Michelle decided that the right thing to do was to adopt both because in her words, "we don't leave any Aragons behind." Though they had more than enough to keep them busy with their full-time jobs, parenthood, and their newly adopted cat, they were intent in making it work. But on the day they were to pick up the two, the shelter informed them that to everyone's surprise, Star had given birth to four puppies and that three had survived. The Aragons were faced with a critical decision - surrender Star and her puppies and adopt Sunny or take all five puppies home.
