Today is World Humanitarian Day.
August 19th marks the day in 2003 when 22 aid workers were killed in a bombing at the UN headquarters in Baghdad. Every day, but especially on this day, we pay tribute to all people affected by humanitarian crises and those who’ve lost their lives in humanitarian service. We hope #WorldHumanitarianDay inspires action and makes clear that we stand in solidarity against conflict, torture, disease, famine, suffering and the poor leadership that often turns a blind eye.
