Freedom! I took a short handstand break by the freedom monument here in Riga during our guided @109world trip today.
Did you know that in 1989, 2 million people formed a human chain between Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius to declare the urgent need for independence from the Sovjet Union? It stretched 600 kilometers long; two million people holding hands across three countries, connecting the three capitals and demonstrating unity in their efforts towards freedom. It took two months to plan and for ten whole minutes, the chain remained complete and unbroken.
