#Life changing meeting today - a true legend and one of the most powerful men in music - Neil Portnow is the current President and CEO of NARAS (aka The Recording Academy) -- the overall Grammy's and I had a hour 1/2 meeting with him about OUR baby..... R&B and the current state of R&B..... Where we are and where we should be.... He's not only a fellow musician who's worked at many labels and and signed many legends- he's also a man who specifically has a passion for R&B and Soul music!!! We laughed, we watched videos and exchange a very powerful dialogue about where we ARE in R&B music as a culture and where we should be - I can tell you right now it felt beyond good sitting in front of him as #Shame just jumped BACK to being #1 on Billboard - Urban AC charts..... Change doesn't come from just sitting at home complaining- it comes from decided to DO something- thank you Neil for caring enough to make time and hear me out.... And thank you to my #GrammyFamily I will continue to hope and pray that the overall genre benefit from these talks and moments..... In asking that YOU help me to make a statement register to vote....
