The twin towers of Zurich’s Grossmünster church are regarded as one of the most recognized landmarks in Switzerland. But perhaps more impressive are the church’s stained glass windows, which aren’t actually glass, but stone. Seven of the church’s windows contain thin slices of agate, colorful stones dating back millions of years – much older than the stone that makes up the church’s walls. #fanscapes #engineering #switzerland
