On the flight home from Detroit, I had the opportunity to read some of the recent @RoadandTrack Design issue. There is a tribute to the legendary Shelby Daytona that blew me away. I haven't finished it yet, but Sam Smith has a way of crafting words that sucks you in. There are quotes from many people involved in the Daytona's creation and racing career, specifically it's designer, Pete Brock. Also included are quoted from legendary drivers Bob Bondurant and Dan Gurney. This is one of the best articles I have ever read and gives you the feeling of how and why the Daytona was ever created, but also what it meant for the world of racing.
