"After almost three years of photographing and touring with #theCivilWars, their european tour in November of 2012 came to a sudden halt. #JohnPaulWhite chose to be silent and retreated from the public eye. As I watched the aftermath of their demise, he exemplified grace and dignity, and I gained even more respect and admiration for this incredibly talented man. I was so excited recently when he asked me down to Florence, Alabama, to do a photo shoot at his recording studio #SingleLockRecords. It was like old times, spending the day together, hanging out at his favorite spots. I've never seen him as happy or proud of what he's accomplished. He's producing, writing and working on a multitude of new projects. We both agreed that we will always cherish the Civil Wars days, but realize now it was a stepping stone for better things to come."
