This is the only pic I have of my mom & dad together with their two kids @_courtneycook_ & I. We also had a pet shark as you can see in the background.
This was taken in York Beach, Maine on Long Sands. We used to have a lot of fun together before George & Donna went their separate ways a year later. It was for the best but man they loved each other deeply but just couldn't figure out how to repair some badly damaged hearts.
From it I have the greatest sister on earth and some perspective on how not to love in a relationship. Not to say I have not burnt some bridges while standing on them with women but it's easy to light a match when the other person built a toll booth on it.
I have some nice memories of this summer. Maybe someday I will take a pic with my own family on Long Sands.
Cheers to you mom and dad. You gave me and your daughter life and set examples for us to follow or bypass.
One last funny thing. People sometimes bust my balls for "standing like some kind of super hero" in pix but it's not on purpose. Look at how I was standing here! Ha. Confident on the outside and a scared wreck inside. Yup... that's me there.
