Why the album title #BlackRose? Inspired by a poem Pac wrote called "A rose that grew through concrete"... I feel like I'm a BLACK ROSE that grew through the concrete streets of South Central LA Watts..... The album that saved R&B..... Whatever the first week of sales are, doesn't matter.... Every interview, every radio spin, every PD and on air personality shouting out my #Shame single and #BlackRose, all of the social media fun we've had and more importantly every fan and supporter.... Even if you couldn't buy the album I love you and I'm smiling ANYWAY... You guys should be very very proud... WE made a statement.... WE took a pure R&B album to #1 in 15 countries and #1 on the TOP 200 and #1 on the R&B Billboard charts!!!! My single #SHAME is #2 on Billboard Urban Ac ( We HAVE to get this song to #1 on ALL radio formats ).... Funny how Elvis Duran of Z-100 in NYC Or Ryan Seacrest have not responded yet to any of the talks of the ( box ) and or lack of diversity in Mainstream radio... Music has no race, no sexual preference and no boundaries... I refuse to be another pure urban R&B Soul artist that get locked into urban AC radio... I just want my songs to be heard and embraced by ALL!! - but it's ok a change will come soon... #Shame WILL be on mainstream radio I won't rest until it happens!!! FYI guys we've already WON!! The next time you HEAR someone say that pure R&B Soul is dead....
