On National #MoonDay, commemorate the anniversary of man's first walk on the moon in 1969 with Katie Paterson's "Light bulb to Simulate Moonlight" (2008) on view now in #Storylines. Paterson (@katiempaterson) often collaborates with specialists in astronomy, astrophysics, genetics, and nanotechnology to develop her research-based projects. For this work, Paterson worked with engineers to take light-meter readings, analyze wavelengths, and finally locate an appropriate surface coating in order to produce a bulb that emits rays approximating the light of a full moon.
