"Dan Coogan was a serious photographer. He had the top equipment and was extremely dedicated to his craft but, man, did he love shooting punk shows. He was essentially AP's Adam Elmakias at the time. We did a cover story on the soon-to-be-deceased trash-punk band, Numbskull, and Dan supplied us with this amazing cover shot that is also now a landmark of AP's early history. Dan now lives in Arizona and is a very successful corporate photographer. Having him take part in our early years was a major blessing to us." #ap30
