An update on Simotua @dswt - This week marked a milestone moment for #Simotua! We decided that it was time for his first excursion into the Nairobi Park forest with the other Nursery orphans.

Simotua came to the #DSWT, skin and bone, in late June. He was brutally injured from a snare around one leg and a deep penetrating spear wound to his head. Given the severity of his injuries and poor body condition, it is astounding he has made such great progress in such a short time. He still has a ways to go, but our round-the-clock monitoring and intensive treatment will certainly pave the way to recovery.
Simotua was visibly delighted to be part of an elephant herd, and the other orphans treated him with tender attention. Huge thanks to his extended family around the world who has shown such compassion and generous support for this brave baby.
