When I was 13 years old my friend told me he was going to a team tryout for what I considered the best skate shop team in St. Louis. The shop was called Splash. These guys would show up to contests and sweep every age division. New tricks. Best gear. Everything. They were the coolest skaters I had ever seen and my friend was actually going to skate with them for a tryout! I knew if I was going to go anywhere with skateboarding I had to go with him, so I begged and it worked. And we skated with the team all day. After that they all became my closest friends and biggest influences over the next few years. They didn't drink or smoke or do drugs. They were about one thing; skateboarding. Over time I lost touch with most of them, it happens. My friend, the one who brought me to the team tryout when he didn't have to, well, years later he surfaced in Hollywood. One day while standing in the parking lot of the grocery store I hear, "Berra? Steve Berra?" And I turn around and it was him. Chad Hamilton. My friend I skated with almost every single day when I first started skating. My friend who used to spend the night at my house. My friend who helped change my life. I couldn't believe it. We caught up, talked about our lives, he came by the Berrics and skated with me for a bit. Turns out he was trying to get movies and television shows off the ground but hadn't quite met the success he was hoping for. Well, I'm pretty fuckin proud to say that he has now. His first tv show, Mr Robot, aka @WhoIsMrRobot is one of the fuckin best shows on television and I think one of the best shows I've ever seen. Watch it tonight at 9pm. Thanks to my friend it's changing the entire face of @usanetwork. If you live in a time zone that's already passed, all good, just download it tomorrow on iTunes. Every week I'm gonna remind you to watch this show because as skaters, I think it's right up your alley and I'm so proud of my friend for never giving up and shouting him out is what you're supposed to do when you have over 800k followers who you know are gonna love the show as much as you do. Follow the show, tell em the Berrics mutha fuckin sent you. #fsociety
