“I have a big collection of science fiction paperbacks because I love the artwork. I ended up pulling several covers from my bookshelf and sitting there and going, ‘This [album] sounds so much like you’re in deep space and very lonely.’ It just sort of pulled this image out of my head and I just started thinking, ‘What is it about this record? It kind of makes you feel like you’re floating in space.’ So I started working on that orb.” –Jacob Escobedo (@coldpolars), on the pink orb album artwork he designed for the first Broken Bells album.
