"Last summer I had the opportunity to sneak away from the band I was shooting for at Made in America Festival L.A. and catch #Weezer perform in front of an estimated 50,000 people. Months later, coming off the fall release of 'Everything Will Be Alright in the End,' I photographed the band in a much smaller Los Angeles venue, the Belasco Theater. They started the hometown show with a nostalgic and intimate nine song acoustic set, followed by an electrifying plugged-in performance of the new record in it's entirety. I positioned myself in the center of the line of photographers entering the pit in between sets so I could arrive front and center, and it worked. #RiversCuomo wore his thematic 'Sebastian' suit, which contrasted beautifully in the sea of yellows, blues and purples that illuminated the stage. Only a few feet away with my elbows on stage, I shot wide open with a 35mm lens, softening the background and mic stand but drawing attention to his blue sticker-covered Strat, and I took this shot."
