here's a view you won't see often - looking down from the dome of the famous Hagia Sofia. built in 537 in what was then Constantinople, it stood as the largest cathedral for a 1000 years, before its conversion to a mosque, and later museum. we spent 30 minutes negotiating with the museum director, who personally checked my boot treads before allowing me to climb with a security escort. lucked out! it's 1,500 years old, tall enough to fit the entire Statue of Liberty inside, and here I am, standing on a thin rim of very old and very unsupported concrete... without a harness. anything for a decent photo. pro tip: always bring a sturdy pair of boots. @turkey_home @matadornetwork #litely
