Leaving California along with one of the most magical sunsets I have ever seen. Traffic was stuck and people were flooding to the shores of Santa Monica just to get a glimpse of this sky. I watch it from the highway and it's just a sunset but it makes my eyes tear up. I feel it in my heart the way I feel so much in my heart all the time. Maybe because it broke and never truly healed.
I think about my moment in this world and how fleeting it is. Good and bad, high and low, fast and slow... Pain and love and fear and beauty all wrapped up in the experience that happens to be my life.
The sky turns a golden firey purple and I can't not get as close as humanly possible to the light that's emanating from the horizon. I ask my brother to pull over and he does because he gets it and then I run across the street, zigzagging between cars that all have their windows down just to let a little more of the light in. My hair is wet from the surf and I'm running through pavement and then grass and when I get to the edge of the cliff I have to pause and close my eyes to catch my breath but the moment I open them back up the sky takes it away again.

All of the people I have ever loved live in this sunset. The ones I have lost. The ones I'm yet to find. Love is eternal and its manifesting this moment just for me.
Get out of your car and breathe with the sunset and you will know that in the same way, it's manifesting just for you.
Explore everything that intrigues you. Run as far as you need to just to find it. Stop to catch your breath and let the beauty of being alive take your breath away again.

I'm at the airport now. Grateful. Going home.
