Made it up to the Demilitarization Zone between North and South Korea today. This is the Bridge of No Return where prisoners of war had the choice to be released back to their country after the war in 1953. Once the choice was made, there was no return.
Now, relatives and hopeful Koreans come here and write notes of love and peace, wishing for reunification and a happier future to people on the other side who likely will never see it.
