Prototyped by Herman Miller, but never produced, Alexander Girard designed an aluminum shelving unit for @Alcoa’s Forecast Program, a campaign started in 1956 and aimed at rebranding aluminum as a beautiful, useful material for the home. Girard had the unit installed in his own home to display a portion of his folk art collection, photographed here by Charles Eames. One other shelving system was produced for Herman Miller’s Barbary Coast San Francisco showroom ?✨ #shelfie
