Texas Coalition for Animal Protection, @tcapspayneuter , says they provide compassionate solutions to help improve animal welfare for those who are indigent and lack sufficient means to provide medical care for their pets. They say their prices are 70% less than what traditional veterinary clinics charge.
Is cheaply mutilating a cat’s paws a “compassionate solution” for a behavioral issue? Is amputating cat’s toe bones to help save someone’s sofa a “preventative service”? Are they really “protecting animals” when they offer cheap declawing for people who can barely afford to give their pets the necessary pet wellness care? Is amputating the toe bones and claws on a kitten and causing so much pain and suffering a healing or helping service for a cat? Is declawing all FOUR paws on a kitty because it scratched the lap of your grandmother when it jumped off her lap, an innovative thing? (TCAP won the “Most Innovative Approach to Animal Welfare” award in 2007 from the Humane Society US) It’s sad how easy and profitable it is to be on the inhumane and wrong side of animal protection. Stick to what you do best TCAP and that is to help the pet overpopulation problem and pet wellness in Texas and stop hurting cats by declawing them.
