@ckorbulic on a stretch of northern Patagonia's Futa River, one of the premier whitewater destinations in the world. The river is fed by glacial snowmelt from the Andean Lakes region of Argentina and Chile. Locals often refer to the region as "Un paisaje pintado por dios" - a landscape painted by God.

The Futa is dammed only once, near its source in Argentina, and is free-flowing through Chile. Recently, several Chilean & international organizations joined forces to oppose multinational corporation Endesa's looming dam project that would have quelled the river's free flow and drowned rapids in reservoirs. In October 2014, citing international opposition, Endesa removed the Futa from its list of future projects.
