Some are heartbreaking, some are encouraging, but all are important and the reason why ALL of these experiences and issues should be validated. So many women have messaged me talking about the sheer isolation they experience during infertility. I relate to this so much, as it took me 5 long years to open up. And it’s still hard to decide what I am ready to share, and when. For now - my first step is taking you back to the beginning. There have been long pauses in planning and recording our podcast due to what we could or couldn’t confront in the moment. We however have new reasons to SMILE on this journey, but even those have come with apprehensions that you don’t expect. Because even with “positive news,” I’m still scared. The PTSD I have is still quite enormous- evidenced by the nightmares that jolt me out of bed most nights. I’m sure my fellow infertility warriors know; you are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. So, to all the women who retreat into their shells during these journeys, it’s ok. There are a million ways to cope. One day if you are ready, share. From personal experience yesterday I realize the beautiful group of women just waiting to tell their stories.
