self-care while traveling is imperative for me to feel grounded. I’ll be honest, night one was not my best representation of this -

New York is an extra stimulating place to visit when you live a pretty introverted day to day mothering in suburbia, but I was able to get a grip and find me center pretty quickly, here are 5 tips that helped me reconnect:

1. Staying somewhere calming, for me that means a small boutique hotel w a clean aesthetic and chill vibe.
2. Finding a comforting place to pick-up or dine-in, and repeated it to create a sense of ritual and familiarity. I ate all my meals at @le_botaniste. Organic and satiating.
3. Got fresh air. Walked. Podcasted. People watched.
4. But most of all, focused on recharging. Going inward. Journaled. Rested. Bathed.
5. Lastly, bought myself clean spring water, a small, but important detail especially while traveling. It can be so easy to just drink whatever is available and convenient, but I know I am mentally more around when I know I’m hydrating well, and mindfully, which means less contaminates and toxins.
