He taught us how to play on the beach, boogie board, build sand castles, wear matching shirts, play games and at the end of the day BBQ ribs and stand around the camp fire singing oldies and cooking marshmallows. On other days he’d take us out on the sail boat, learning how to catch the wind, work together, pray the boat doesn’t flip over ☺️, work through the anxiety of docking and respect other boats on the water. Im amazed how many life lessons my Papa was teaching us just by taking us to the beach. How you interact with the ocean tells you a lot about how you interact with life. You either fear the storm and swim against the current or learn how to respect it and ride the waves. The combination of a great Papa and the ocean creates one of life’s greatest lessons and unforgettable memories.
