AD When you feel safe, you can truly be free - @volvocaruk

When I was 7 years old, I woke up one morning to find that my parents hadn’t come home from the night before. Instead, my neighbour informed my brother, sister and I that our parents had been in a head-on car crash. We were later told by a Police officer that they could have died ‘if they hadn’t been in a Volvo’.

Coming downstairs that day I felt scared and vulnerable. Now as an adult, and with Lola being the age that I was when the accident happened, safety is paramount.

Being in a band and touring is always great fun, and playing my instrument allows me to feel completely free - but at the same time, coming home and closing the door on touring can also be completely freeing. Home is my safe space, my 'safe house'.
