I recently noticed the change on Instagram, where likes won’t be shown anymore. And here is what I think:
I’ve been a user since the beginning, who ended up being one of those magnetized by the number of likes and followers, posting whatever I thought would get more engagement or what I thought my followers would enjoy seeing, not really thinking about the impact of it.
I then reached about 600k followers and great engagement, to find myself depressive. I had to go to the bottom to understand that material life I was promoting is the exact opposite of what truly matters in life, to be happy and content with the simple things. It’s been a process since then, I’ve been studying, trying new things to fill myself with real content, so I can share with you and actually be a good influencer, someone who really believes in what he posts.
Talking about sustainability, mindfulness, nature, yoga, astrology and so, may not be what most of you would like to see here, but it’s the part of me I believe to be important to share. I don’t mind impressing you all, but if a post I do brings a positive impact to one person, I’m doing a good job.
I hope instagram keeps up with this, cause it will certainly make people care less about likes and more about the content itself.

I agree too and as a blogger, I sometimes struggle to make sense of what users on Instagram truly want and how to make my content relatable. But as you said It's all about what you can contribute for the greater good. I am christian and don't believe in yoga but I have loved following you on your travels and seeing the beautiful places that many of us take for granted or would love to see. Me:)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this. For me insta is all about inspiration & I recognize it comes in multiple forms. Practice of yoga is one of them & having shoulder surgery 4 months ago has definitely been a challenge from this perspective. Your posts serve to connect me with better days in past as well as hope for more to come. Muito obrigado meu amigo.

So true! I think a lot of people can relate to this and it’s so freeing when you stop caring as much about the likes and the attention from social media. It’s a hard process to disconnect more, fulfilling yourself with things that actually matter, and being present ... but so worth it ❤️

@rbaldin thanks for the reply. I have to be patient though someone questioned me today whether I will look professional at my job with your look. I ll have to look up ways to play around it with while keeping a clean professional look. 🙏. Muito obrigado!

@rbaldin but all those things (likes, comments) without them #instagram won't not the same. We need to accept that like that
