Happy #WorldWildlifeDay! In honor of animal conservation everywhere, we’ve chosen a few of our fave animals who came #backfromthebrink. The iconic giant panda was taken off the endangered species list in 2016. Thanks to efforts to restore bamboo in China, these cuties have begun to thrive again.
This is the Kihansi spray toad, this FIRST amphibian to be successfully restored in the wild thanks to @bronxzoo.
These bison are AMAZING! Once on the very verge of extinction, @bronxzoo is helping restore these majestic beauties across the continent.
Though the golden lion tamarin is still on the endangered list, 30 years of conservation efforts have elevated it from being critically endangered! Here’s to more tamarins in the world.
Thanks to anti-poaching laws, the greater one-horned rhino population has successfully been growing back. These beautify beasts are no longer endangered.
